Tie Dye Squares
I AM a child of the 60's, if only for a few months of my life.
So, as you can see, I dove into the pile of sock yarn scraps. Out of all the ideas I've seen and that people have suggested for using up leftovers, I think these squares show off the striping and patterning to it's best advantage. It looks like this will be a project for the long haul, and someday it will need some sort of fabric backing, maybe a Kaffe Fassett design, or, alternatively something solid.

Those look really cool! Are they mitered squares?

They are made from a pattern I found here:

It is an EASY pattern to memorize and rather addicting already. Round 2 of the pattern is a bit confusing. I think that it should read: k1,yo,k1,yo,k1.
I don't think these are mitered squares, but I've haven't learned how to make those yet, so I'm not sure if they are or not.

beautiful! that's a great way to recycle the extra yarn without wasting the stripes :-)

I came over from limedragon's blog. I LOVE those squares! The finished product will be a thing of delight.
And I'm definitely a child of the sixties (for 6 years at least ;)
