Eye of the storm
Sometimes in the midst of chaos, you just have to keep crafting or knitting along, or in this case, dyeing and blogging along.
Brief details: Coreopsis tinctoria, an annual dye plant. The top picture of it blooming is not my own. I used flowers that I grew and dried about 5 years ago or so. I keep forgetting to plant this each year since. The yarrow is in my garden. It has reseeded everywhere to the point of becoming pesky, so I threw it in the dyepot, the rusty iron one, to get green. Same striping technique as before. The colors on the left are more accurate, I think, but will have to wait for it to dry, as it will lighten up a bit.
I LOVE HOW THIS TURNED OUT! Will skein it up tomorrow if there is time. Then we're off to the wedding in Whitefish for the weekend.

Hello Iris,
Pleased to meet you!
It looks like you're having a wonderful time. I would love to color my yarn myself, then I could have exactly the color I want. I looks really lovely over at your place.
