Sockapal-ooo-za Yarn
It's about time, n'est-ce pas? Out of a misguided fear that I might run out of yarn to knit with while away on vacation, I picked up this yarn at Hilltop Yarn East in Seattle the night before we hopped on the plane. It's Lorna's Laces, Valentine.
Now. What pattern? Nothing too complicated as time is running short and the yarn will likely do it's own crazy patterning. I borrowed Sensational Knitted Socks from Shannon's mom hoping to find inspiration in there. I think I might just try the super simple Textured Rib pattern. Luckily, my sock pal's foot is about the same size as my own this time.
I can't really explain why I've had such a hard time getting rolling this time around. I'm excited about the pal I was matched up with. I think I've just been unable to find the right yarn. The one I chose might not exactly be the perfect match, but now that I've settled on something, I'm looking forward to doing the knitting.

That yarn is GORGEOUS. If I was your sockpal (I'm not playing, so I know I'm not!), I would be thrilled!

I'm doing the Baby Cable from SS and it involves very little thinking, although it is still interesting knitting. I love the colors if the Lorna's. I haven't been to Hilltop yarns in Seattle for a long time, but I think I was actually there the day it opened. (If it is the one on Queen Anne.)

Those will be some gorgeous yarn!! I imagine you have lots of left over sock yarn, as I have. I started a blanket made out of my leftover sock yarn, in bias squares. Check out my website--it looks kind of cool and I'm hoping my daughter will take it with her when she goes away to college. It's a longterm project!!

Sometimes, it's really difficult to find a project for a given yarn. As I've begun to spin and dye, I understand that quite sharply now. But it's fun...

Oh, what a truly gorgeous yarn this is, I love the colorline! I'm looking forward to seeing what pattern you're going to choose for it!
