All I can muster
Pics taken a week ago, while I "ran errands" on my own, the fun kind that allows time for stopping at quilt shops, trying on shoes, browsing magazines at the bookstore, and stopping to take pictures. Have I ever mentioned that the nearest stoplight is about 50 miles from our house?
Let's just say that thanks was given at the table by rote, with furrowed brows and gritted teeth.
Later, I was up most of that night with one of the nastiest stomach flus I've ever had (not salmonella, there's a bug going around) and slept most of the following day and night. E was up part of the night with a hurting stomach. R is laid out on the couch right now with a mild version, a pail by his side. E is curled up in our bed asleep, right in the middle of the afternoon, something he never does. I'm downing liquids and hoping that my head soon stops feeling too heavy for its neck to support for any length of time.
How about just chalking this one up as the worst holiday on record, and hopefully we can all move on soon.
You would think I'd have lost my taste for it, but after nearly two days without eating, I'm looking forward to a steamy bowl of turkey noodle soup. I guess you could call that moving on.

Well this is like reading one of my own posts right now! I too have had the stomach flu for 2 days now. Hoping that tomorrow it will be over. Living in a coastal community in northern Labrador doesn't feel too comforting at moments like this since there are no doctors and no roads to get out. Thanks for sharing and giving me a slight feeling that i'm not alone haha! ...Love the pics btw, the Montana Highway Dept building is a jewel!!!

Oh man. That totally sucks. I hope you all are feeling better soon. The stomach flu is the worst...but at Thanksgiving? Ugh!

God, that's miserable, I hope you all feel better soon. We were hit by something similar when we were on holiday in Quadra Island, BC, in October. Definitely no fun, especially when away from home.

I hope you all are well soon. That sounds so terrible, but like you said, it can only get better from here.
I don't know what's worse---being the first to get it or the last. So many times, I've nursed the whole family, thinking I beat it, only to eventually come down with the bug myself---I just hate that slow stomach ache turning into full-blown misery... YUCK!
Take care and enjoy your warm soup when you can...

Some holidays are just that way!
When my brother and I were little, he got chicken pox on Xmas and I got them two weeks later on my mom's birthday. I don't think she was impressed either...

Longtime reader and usual lurker chiming up here to say I'm so sorry your holiday was fouled with a bug. Having spent Christmas similarly a few years ago I sympathize.
Hopefully this is everyone's bout for the year, behind you now, and you can have a great rest of the winter. Cheers.
