Rat-a-touille!
Phew. This week the Missoula Children's Theater, which has been touring to small communities, not only within the state, but around the country and the world for about 35 years now, made their annual trip to our town. Two young actor/directors pull into town with a pick up truck loaded with sets and costumes and they hold auditions on Monday afternoon, have rehearsals each afternoon/evening for the following 4 days, and then do two musical performances on Saturday afternoon and evening. Each year, it's amazing to see what they manage to learn and pull off with flying colors in just a matter of days with 6o kids, ages 5-17. This year it was The Pied Piper, R was one of the rats, and he loved every bit of it.
It makes for a really fun, but exhausting week. So, this afternoon after a late lunch, we finally convinced R to clean off his rat makeup and then we crawled into our bed for a rare Star Wars double feature (& some online fabric shop surfing for me). Dinner was a put-the-movie-on-pause-for-a-few-minutes-while-everyone-fends-for-themselves-kind-of-affair, i.e. plain, cold pancakes leftover from breakfast, chips and salsa, bananas, and cheese and crackers.
(There were no pictures allowed during the performance so these are the out takes from afterwards, where they had the kids making goofy faces, as a lead up to the smiley "Cheese!" picture.)
With the onset of winter and more days and evenings like this, in our PJ's, ahead, it seemed like a good time to upgrade the Netflix account. Top of the queue: why, Ratatouille, of course.

How fun! What a great concept. I love the rat face. Boys will be boys.

The traveling production company. I LOVE that idea! How neat!!
We love pajama day too, and that is what we are doing today, exactly! We just picked up Ratatouille, because of the school holiday today.

Ah yes, I know that "put the movie on pause while everyone scavenges for food" ordeal after a busy day or week!
I tagged you for a meme over on my blog. Come see! If you're not interested, no worries...
