Goodbye 2007
Potentially one of the most memorable New Year's Eves. Had to cancel the party we'd planned on having due to still being too ill and not wanting to spread germs any further. Instead we made our own party, filling that long day until midnight.
Roast beef cooked slowly all day on the woodstove with our traditional New Year's Eve lime tart, games and reading, lego building, and more.
9:00 pm-ish: building a fort downstairs for all of us to camp out in,
10:00 pm-ish: hammering on tin can lanterns and playing with ice and toy animals in the sink.
11:00 pm-ish: bundling up and trekking out into the dark to the frozen pond to light off sparklers, ground spinners, and bottle rockets (brrr at 7 degrees F!)
Midnight: coming back in to the cozy warm house, banging pots and pans, and crawling into the fort together for a long winter's nap.
Thank you for all your kind words and well wishes for the new year.
