Corset Pullover Finished, Two

Corset_pullover_on_1Hopsvine_2Sometimes life just throws you, you know?   I really didn't foresee having a hard time deciding what to share and not to share in this public space, at least not so soon.  Last night we went sailing and spent the night out on the boat.  The boys don't last long out there without getting off and running around, and since we don't have a dinghy yet, we decided to fish a little bit this morning, head back, and go camping tonight.  When we got back to the dock, a friend/business partner of C's was waiting there for us with some just apalling and shocking news.  Tragic in the strangest  of ways.  Nothing fatal,  nobody is hurt,  not the end of the world, but very difficult none the less.  The kind of thing that makes you feel nauseous.  We're not even ready to tell family and friends for fear of putting a damper on their long weekend.   It is something I will share someday.  For now, I think I'll just go pitch the tent in the yard, and share what I can: these pictures.

The front and back are sewn together.  I'm liking the way it fits, and it looks good even as a tank.  I would consider leaving it like this, but it would need better selvedge stitches where the sleeves would(n't) go.   I think I'll finish it the way the pattern calls for,but might leave all the cinch straps off like Laura at Cosmicpluto did here .  Thanks to her inspiriation and the WEBS garage sale , I'm finally knitting this.  I think I'll try to sew the first sleeve in before making the second one to make sure I don't need to make any adjustments.

The weather broke for about 30 minutes, so we ran out into the field and picked some of the first daisies.   Some we took to the creek, and the rest we put in a vase, even though they're stinky!

Corset Pullover Progress

So this is what I'm working on now.  I knitted in the car for a couple of hours today while we went and ran errands.  Our policy:  If it's daylight, you drive, I'll knit.  If it's after dark, I'll drive.

This is a weird color yarn.  Under lights at night, it looks kahki green.  In sunlight it almost looks metallic gold.  A friend took one look at it and said, "Oh, it's that 70's green."  When in doubt, I've been choosing to think of it as a mossy, ferny green, something a fairie might wear.  That's what you get when you pick colors online.  I threw in a tray of basil seedlings for comparison.  (Still 3 more days to go until our AVERAGE last frost date.)
