Clearly this is out of season but,
while laid up with the last vestiges of a 24 hour style flu,
I spent a good part of the couch-time going through pictures and came across these.
This would have been the sole weekend last summer when we could have gone camping all together as a family, only the weather forecast didn't look too promising, and so we opted instead for a day trip to a new-to-us lake nearby.
This day was oh so very nice.
When clouds threatened, soon after we arrived, to drive us out of there we gave ourselves a single chance to get a fire going using a napkin I found in my bag as starter. It took, keeping us warm enough to wait out the rain, to stay a little longer, despite the chill in the air.
I still can scarcely believe I didn't camp out overnight, not even once, this past summer,
but we did have this one day.
